Linda has been the head coach of Edinburgh University Triathlon Club since_IMC6484 2012. This involves planning, delivering and overseeing all coaching of club members from complete beginners to triathletes competing internationally. In addition, Linda mentors and oversees the development of our student coaches.

Since Linda became head coach of the club, a performance squad has been set up, providing an opportunity for talented athletes to progress.

As a club we have had our best performances in the British Universities and College Sports league (BUCS) to date, last year placing 4th team overall in the BUCS standard distance championships

Member retention has improved since Linda came on board, with members frequently highlighting Linda’s talents as a coach

lindaLinda is a familiar face amongst Edinburgh University Triathlon Club, typically coaching 3 sessions per week, including general club sessions and performance squad sessions. Linda mentors our student coaches through their triathlon coaching qualifications by overseeing and supervising their coaching and delivery and helping them prepare for examination. This contributes to the continued success of coaching in the club.

She is friendly, supportive and encouraging to all the athletes in the club, whilst able to push athletes towards success when needed in a friendly and motivating way. Linda is a regular face at target races and events, supporting our athletes and providing instruction and advice on the day of competitions, which is particularly helpful and comforting to many of our first-time triathletes.

Linda consistently goes the extra mile for the club and for individual members who seek out help or advice with specific issues or training goals.

We love Coach Linda!
